On March 29, 2026, in Nantou City, Nantou County, Taiwan, an orange cat suddenly ran out from the side of the road onto Dongmin Road. The cat moved quickly across the street and collided forcefully with the rear wheel of a passing motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, an older man, lost control due to the impact. He fell from the bike and slid along the road surface with the motorcycle. The rider got up on his own and did not appear to have serious visible injuries. No ambulance was called to the scene.
The car driver exited the vehicle and carefully checked underneath and around it. No blood, fur, or signs of injury to the car were found. Witnesses and authorities concluded that the cat was not seriously hurt. After the collision, the cat was not conscious for a short period of time. It later recovered and ran away from the area on its own. The cat was not seen again at the scene and is believed to have run away safely into the nearby area as a stray animal.
This real dashcam video shows how unpredictable stray animals can be on the road. It also reflects the way cats often withstand situations that would seriously harm other animals, many believe cats have multiple lives, and this cat appears to have used one of them to walk away unharmed from a strong impact that affected only the rider.
