On May 12, 2022, Colombian pilot Jorge Arteaga and co-pilot Daniel were flying a Cessna T303 Crusader toward Medellín over Antioquia when a metallic, oval shaped object appeared at 12,500 ft. Initially hovering, the object suddenly accelerated toward their plane at an estimated 100–200 mph and performed erratic maneuvers as the pilots circled to capture it on an iPhone. Arteaga recalled, “It moved toward us… I felt fear. Not a balloon, too high, no string.”
The 19 second HD footage shows the object tilting, gliding amid clouds, and then disappearing. Ufologist Jaime Maussan declared the video authentic, with no signs of CGI or manipulation, calling it the “best UFO footage ever.”
Skeptics argue it’s a reflective mylar balloon. Medellín is known for high altitude balloon launches, and helium or solar heated balloons can reach 12,000+ ft, often appearing to maneuver against wind shear. NYPost debunker Steven Greenstreet highlights similar blue black mylar footage, suggesting a mundane explanation.
Despite this, believers see the object as an unexplained aerial phenomenon. No radar or corroborating sightings exist, keeping debate alive. Is it advanced Alien technology or just festive debris?
