Two newly leaked videos from U.S. Air Force MQ-9 Reaper drones have surfaced, documenting two separate encounters with unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) in the Middle East. The footage was released by investigative journalists George Knapp and Jeremy Corbell and has been verified by sources close to the Pentagon, reigniting public and congressional debate over unidentified aerial objects and government transparency.
The first encounter dates back to 2012 over Syria. Infrared footage shows a bright, orb-like object tracked by a Reaper drone’s targeting system. On-screen telemetry displays time, range, altitude, and ground speed as the object appears to hover before accelerating instantaneously to supersonic speeds. No visible propulsion, exhaust, or control surfaces are observed, and the drone’s sensors struggle to maintain a lock as the object rapidly departs the area.
The second incident occurred in 2021 near the Syria-Jordan border. This footage depicts multiple metallic, spherical objects estimated to be between three and six feet in diameter. The objects maneuver unpredictably, including apparent coordinated flight over the Persian Gulf. In one clip, an orb appears to remain intact after contact with a Hellfire missile fired by U.S. forces. Pilots and operators reported no conventional radar or heat signatures consistent with known aircraft or missiles.
The release of these videos comes amid heightened congressional scrutiny of UAPs. Lawmakers have acknowledged the existence of additional classified footage and continue to push for greater disclosure from the Department of Defense.
