In a spectacle that captivated viewers worldwide, a young girl toppled a massive tower made of 63,000 drink coasters, built by German artist Benjamin Klapper in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record. The tower, displayed at the Rhein Center shopping mall in Cologne, Germany, had already partially collapsed under its own weight before completion. To engage visitors, Klapper invited guests to play “Beer Mat Jenga,” carefully removing pieces until the tower eventually fell.
The viral footage shows the girl pulling out a horizontally placed coaster, triggering the dramatic collapse while spectators watched. The video captures the thrill of the event, highlighting both the scale of the construction and the interactive fun of the activity. Though the Guinness World Record for the largest coaster tower remains held by Sven Goebel, with 70,000 coasters, Klapper’s 63,000-piece sculpture represents a remarkable milestone in his decades-long career building drink coaster art.
Klapper emphasized that his motivation is not only creating art but allowing the public to participate in the construction and playful dismantling of his works. “Viewers aren’t just seeing the finished sculpture, they experience the process and excitement firsthand,” he said. A single move sends Klapper’s massive coaster sculpture tumbling in unforgettable fashion.
One wrong move and it’s all gone. One pull, total chaos. Could YOU build a tower this tall… and survive the fall?
